Plans for Phase 2 Upgrades Take Shape

Plans for Phase 2 Upgrades Take Shape

The Ohio Department of Transportation, in coordination with us and the Village of Greenwich, is planning an improvement project on a 3.5-mile portion of our trail. This is Phase 2 of our three-part trail upgrade. The project area -- highlighted on the map -- will include such drainage enhancements as the repair or replacement of cross culverts under the trail, and ditch cleaning. Surface improvements include a packed-stone base with a finely crushed stone topcoat. ADA compliant curb ramps will be installed where the trail meets roadways, and parking provisions will be improved at the Townsend Street trailhead in Greenwich.

The projected start date is March 1, 2026, with a projected completion by Oct. 31, 2026. Periodic interruption of trail traffic is expected within the project area -- between Townsend and Kniffen streets in Greenwich, between Alpha Road and U.S. 250, and between Townline 187 and Greenwich East Townline roads -- during construction.
